Attach a photo, a screenshot, or a text document. Robin inspects receipts, summarizes long notes, debugs code snippets, and translates foreign text on demand.
Pick a folder once. Robin can list your files, read your notes, and write clean .md documents straight to your phone. Works seamlessly with your Files app and Obsidian.
No passwords, no email verification, no monthly billing cycles. Your chats stay on your phone, and built-in privacy filters automatically mask emails and card numbers before queries leave your device.
We don't run user tracking databases. Conversation histories are saved locally on your phone storage. When you clear a chat, it is gone.
Robin scans messages for credit card numbers, Social Security numbers, and passwords, giving you a 1-tap option to mask private details before sending.
Robin clearly marks which models retain inference logs and which don't. You can choose OVHcloud, Kilo, or connect your own local Home Ollama server.
When you enable local notes, Android pops up a system dialog asking for permission to access a folder. To most people, that sounds alarming—like handing an app the keys to your entire phone. Here is what is actually happening under the hood:
RobinTHood uses Android's Storage Access Framework (SAF). You choose or create one specific folder (like Notes or Robin). Android cryptographically locks Robin inside that single folder. It is physically impossible for Robin to see your photos, texts, contacts, downloads, or other apps.
Robin strictly reads and writes human-readable Markdown (.md) and text files under 1 MB. It refuses binaries, executables, and scripts. It cannot run code on your device, modify system files, or install background services.
Big Tech AI stores your notes in their closed database so you can never cancel. Robin writes real .md files on your physical device. View, edit, or delete them anytime in your phone's Files app or Obsidian, and revoke folder permissions in Android settings in one tap.
Hey, I'm Phil. I'm a father, a former wireless and telecom tech, and the sole developer behind RobinTHood.
I built this as a counter-culture move. The big AI platforms charge you $20 a month, demand an account, and still vacuum up your data to train their models and build advertising profiles. Let's be completely straight about how privacy actually works: any cloud AI requires sending your prompt to an inference server. That's just physics. But here’s the difference: RobinTHood has zero interest in building a dossier on you. There are no accounts, no forced logins, no tracking cookies, and no data brokers. If you want absolute zero-exposure privacy, RobinTHood lets you plug directly into your own self-hosted Home Ollama server—which is literally the best you can do with AI today.
I believe strongly in honesty and clean intentions. In fact, you might say my God's name is Truth. If anyone asks about the capital T in RobinTHood, you can call it Truth, Logos, or a cross—it stands for building things out in the open, in plain daylight.
I don't have venture capital investors demanding infinite quarterly growth at your expense. I have a ceiling. My goal is simple: build a genuinely useful tool that gives people back their access, earn enough security to take care of my family, and then I'm good. No bait-and-switch, no creeping paywalls, and no corporate rot.

Join the Beta on Google PlayThe "T" stands for "The" — as in Robin The Hood, the classic folk legend taking what was locked away behind high castle walls and returning it to the people. It also stands for Transparent, Truth, and Totally not the stock app.
RobinTHood routes queries through optimized open-source inference providers and edge infrastructure (Cloudflare Workers, OVHcloud, Kilo) that don't carry the massive overhead of Big Tech marketing. Basic non-intrusive banner ads cover server bandwidth.
